Over the Moon Organics was founded in 2005 when Juliet and David Bateman bought a small lifestyle farming property between Albany and Denmark in WA’s beautiful Great Southern region. The new farmers bought one Jersey cow, Molly, followed quickly by two more. Enjoying their new status as dairy farmers, they then decided to build a dairy and cheese factory which were completed in 2007.
Today, Over the Moon Organics’ herd of 40 Jersey cows provide the milk that is used to produce Triple Cream Brie, Camembert, Fetta, Kefir, pot set yoghurts and pure Jersey milk.
Over the Moon Organics follow organic and biodynamic farming principles.
The dairy company offers cheese making courses on site in Albany and by arrangement, and is planning to introduce visits for interested members of the public and school groups in 2017.
