Apple Rumani Mangoes are known for their sweet taste, juicy flesh and apple- like shape. They are round and globular, with a yellowish green skin and a red tint at the top. When ripe, they turn solid yellow. Rumani Mangoes are great eaten fresh as a snack or in smoothies, desserts and cocktails.

This homemade ice cream using Apple Rumani Mangoes is creamy and delightful and with only a few simple steps and an ice cream marker, you can enjoy this sweet dessert anytime at home

 

 

Ingredients

  • 1 Large Rumani Mango
  • 3/4 cup of sugar
  • 2 cup of thickened cream
  • 1 cup of full cream milk

Serves: 4
Prep time: 10 mins
Cooking time: 4.5 hours (includes freeze time)

Method

  1. Chop up and blend mango. Set to cool in the fridge.
  2. While the mango is cooling, add the sugar, thickened cream and full cream milk to a large bowl. Whisk mixture until combined.
  3. Put the mixture in the ice cream maker, and churn as per the device’s instructions (usually around 24-40 minutes)
  4. 5 minutes before the ice cream has finished churning, add in the blended mango.
  5. Place the churned ice cream into an airtight container and freeze for 4 hours or until hardened.
  6. Serve with fresh mango on top!
